Mechanical Engineering is the heart of industrial engineering: it is the branch of engineering concerned with the study, planning, production and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Graduates of the programme have solid technical training in the construction of machines (in relation to their operation and the resistance of their components), energy transformation in the machines themselves, materials, fluid mechanics, processing technologies, design, the means and services relative to machine operation, measurement and control of dimensions and performance and the foundations of industrial automation.
On this website, you will find information about the Politecnico di Milano's Mechanical Engineering Study Programme: the Laurea (equivalent to a Bachelor of Science), the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to a Master of Science) and the Dottorato di Ricerca (equivalent to a PhD) at the Milano Bovisa, Lecco and Piacenza campuses You will also find information about the career directions for and the employment prospects of our Mechanical Engineering graduates.
Depending on whether you are a prospective student or a current student, navigate the sections of the site dedicated to you, where you will find a wealth of useful information. And keep up-to-date on the various initiatives for the programme's prospective and current students.
