I need to register for the third year of the laurea programme, but I do not meet the requirements for admission to the mandatory third year. What do I need to do if I want to continue my studies after the laurea?

Assessment of a candidate's academic background toward the end of admission to the mandatory third year is based on the number of credits earned and grades. Candidates who do not fulfil the minimum requirements for admission to the mandatory third year must register for the vocational third year. However, access to the laurea magistrale programme is not closed to those who have completed the vocational third year. In such a case, provided that the various requirements have been met, the student may be admitted to the laurea magistrale programme contingent upon earning a number of credits required for filling in academic gaps identified during the assessment of the application for admission.

I have been awarded partial validation for a course. What can I do to earn full credit for the course?

The Mechanical Engineering Study Programme Board determines the number of validated and/or missing credits. Additional coursework and the related procedures are, however, subject to comparison of the courses and an assessment of merit provided by the professor who taught the course.

Is attendance obligatory for the Mechanical Engineering programme?

Attendance is obligatory for some academic activities (such as laboratories), while for others it is not. In any case, attendance is strongly recommended, in part because some courses include midterm progress assessment. For full details about attendance requirements, please see the Educational Rules for the laurea programme and the Educational Rules for the laurea magistrale programme.
